Crab Ban
Tonight Gavin was walking around like a crab and said, "Look, Mom, I am walking like a crab!" I have never seen him do this and so I asked him if he learned this at school. He gets a very serious look and says, "No, we are not allowed." He was so grave that I started to laugh, so he says, "Seriously, none of the kids are allowed!" I just thought this was such a funny response. I can picture his teachers going over the rules and including the ban on crab walking anywhere on school grounds!

SNOW DAY
The kids have been BEGGING to go to the snow since they first saw the covered mountain peaks. Halle had a week off in February and we had gotten fresh snow so we headed up to Idyllwild. Many of the our friends and family live in Utah where the kids know it snows. So, all the way up the mountain we are hearing the kids say how much they wished they lived at the snow. "It's not fair," "Why can't we just move?" "The snow is fun, it's not work, what do you mean work?" On and on...

We found a little area and decided to stop. Isaac was even excited (stark contrast from last year). The kids had TONS of fun for about 30 minutes then they were DONE! They were freezing from making a snow creature and from sledding down the mini hill on the boogie board. Right before we left it started snowing. I hadn't been in the snow as it was falling for so long. We were surrounded by tall trees and with the snow falling it was so serene. I had forgotten how beautiful and peaceful the snow is. But the kids at this point became even colder as their hair and clothes became wet from the snow.
On the way home they decided that they would, "Never want to live in the snow," "NEVER," "It's so cold, why would we want to do that!?"
Sail Away to Sleep...
(Look at that goofy face!)
Gavin has never had more than a matress on a frame, so we decided that it was his turn to get a new bed! We had had our eye in this bed for a long time and finally found one at an amazing deal! I didn't realize that i didn't even get the whole bed in the pic (the best part isn't even showing) but i will take more when his room is all finished. He LOVES it and feels so big climbing into bed each night.
Fifties Valentine Party
We had a great time at the ward's Valentine party! My mom made Halle a skirt and we slicked back the boys hair and cuffed their tees and jeans. We had burgers and root beer floats and danced. They had a dance competion that Eric and Halle entered and they won first place. It was cute to see Eric flinging her around in all the classic swing tricks.
