Free Museum Day

Just wanted to let everyone know that on Saturday, September 27th, many museums are offering free admission with a card that you print from the website below. There are lots of participating museums. I have heard really good things about the Children's Museum of the Desert which happens to be on the list. Just wanted to share!

Me ((REALLY))

I was just catching up on my blogging (so sad when even mindless hobbies need upkeep) and realized my friend Kera tagged me to do this post. This post is to capture things as they are (no touching up or cleaning or putting on make-up!!) This is very brave of me since I am really sick today and have been most of the week... and I promise, there was no cheating! I tag Jackie, Cami and Melissa!!

Sink: No dishes, and mostly clean except for a stray piece of watermelon from snack time.
Laundry Room: Nice and tidy. Just hats drying on the dryer (you can actually wash hats in the front loaders w/out ruining them!!)
My Bathroom: Generally a hazard zone... I am always rushing when I am getting ready so many times you cannot see the counter. When I was combing Halle's hair in there this weeek for school, she raised an interesting, however obnoxious question, "Mom, how come we have to keep our room and bathroom clean and yours is a mess?!" Point taken!!!

My Fridge: Ehh... I don't want to talk about it..

My Favorite Shoes: Purple Patent Ballet Flats bought recently for Fall. The color is my favorite!!! A tie with my new running shoes that really take a beating every week! Aasic Gel Kayano's if anyone is looking for kick-butt running shoes.

My Favorite Room: The kitchen. I love cooking and feeding my kids healthy meals! Plus I like eating.

My kids: Halle & Gavin are at Melissa's and Isaac is sleeping behind this door. I am smart enough not to go inside.

Me: YIKES!!

Siggs are Super

At family dinner last Sunday, my sister in law Nicole saw the kids' Sigg bottles and really liked them. I thought that maybe somebody else might benefit from one of my new gotta have finds. These are LEAK PROOF in a way that I have never seen with another "leak proof" bottle. They are BPA free and we like ours so much that we no longer buy plastic bottles of water. (NO, I have not jumped on the Hollywood tree-hugging bandwagon, but taking care and saving $ is always good!) You can get them at http://www.mysigg.com/ or on ebay!

Update

We have had a lot of changes going on here over the last few weeks!
Eric is now working 12's at the Riverside office which has been great!! He is home all the time now! We certainly went from one extreme to the other. I have really enjoyed it and I know the kids have as well.

I am training to run my first marathon in January and am planning to start working toward my group fitness certification next month. I am so excited!! I feel like it is all I can think about sometimes.

The kids are really doing well in school and things couldn't be going better there!

We are mostly just enjoying spending time together and waiting for the cooler weather to come. Fall is such an exciting time and my favorite time of year.

A Pirate Battle

I met some ladies who are in faith-based group here in the valley. They are wonderful and have a jam-packed schedule that always has something fun for us to do. Today they had a pirate adventure at the partk. There was a treasure hunt and in the end a water battle between two pirate ships. It was very fun with all the kids decked out in their pirate wear.

Gavin Goes to Preschool

We decided at the last minute to put Gavin into preschool. He is going to St. John's Lutheran and we are incredibly happy with the program that they have there. His teachers are fabulous and he is so happy to finally have something of his own to do all by himself! Here he is on his first day... which he handled like a pro...

The first day of first grade

Some pics of Halle going to school for the first day.
Her teacher is Mrs. Perez and she has been enjoying every second of it!

Paige's Visit- August

My cuz Paige comes and visits me every Summer and I love it! We have so much fun laughing and shopping (LOTS of shopping) Here are a few pics from her and my aunt and uncle's visit. We also spent a couple of days in Palm Desert at the Marriot as we do most Summers. Eric surprised me with a massage and body scrub at the spa. I forgot to chrage my camera batteries and was without the whole time!! The kids had fun in the pool. We also went out with my Mom and Dad and Carla and Milt to Ruth's Chris. It had been years since we had eaten at our long-ago frequented favortite restaurant. It was so yummy... thanks again to Paige for babysitting! We also had a good time at the beach...
